Develops and maintains partnerships with local corporations and small businesses. Solicits support and identifies value-added solutions for all parties.

This committee reports to the Director of Corporate Development and the duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with local corporations and in Triangle Area.
- Develop and maintain Chapter’s Corporate Development plan
- Solicit monetary funding, underwriting, and in-kind services to support Chapter activities
- Recruit corporate partners to support National Conference.

The Community Development Committee’s primary function is to provide the organization with support throughout the community. This is accomplished by providing business expertise and giving assistance to educational, civic, and other organizations.

- Establish relationships and serving as mentors with local schools to address the needs of students in the inner city.
- Participate in an annual program that provides students with information about careers and the corresponding educational requirements for those careers.

- Promote the membership of the National Black MBA Association, Inc.
- Conduct membership orientations
- Develop membership drives to recruit new members.
- Coordinate a membership registration table at monthly meetings and special events.
- Recruit and retain new, renewing and transfer members to the Chapter.
- Prepare and distribute membership applications & information packages upon request.
- Receive, review, copy and submit applications to the National Office.
- Provide a budget for membership activities and year-end recommendations.
- Track attendance and member participation at monthly meetings and special events.
- Maintain the most current membership roster and provide changes to the Director of Technology

- Sponsor activities that address the needs of the student members

The membership committee is looking for members who are willing to attend and maintain the membership registration table at most chapter events. Membership Committee members should be outgoing and willing to ‘work’ the room at chapter events. Time commitment to serve on the Membership Committee is about an hour at each chapter event, which is about one or two each month.

The Program committee not only works to support one of the primary NBMBAA - Raleigh-Durham Chapter goals of providing our membership with effective tools for leadership development; but through the organization of monthly meetings, it also serves as a catalyst for building brand awareness to both prospective members and key members of the corporate community.

Plan and implement a first-class scholarship and awards program for the local chapter.

This committee reports to the VP of Administration and the duties include, but are not limited to, the following:ll:
- Build a team of individuals to manage all scholarship program related activities
- Support the committees with fundraising efforts for the scholarship fund
- Increase both the exposure and the audience for the organization and the students that are supported

Our main objective consists of a collaborative effort with the other committees to present a scholarship program that is consistent with the vision and the image of the organization, which will create long-term viability while developing future leaders and improving human capital in the Raleigh-Durham area.

Local scholarship funds are generated from the generous contributions of our local corporate partners, donations and proceeds from our Annual Golf Tournament.
